About Heather
Retirement works for some people, but not for me. After a 24 year career as a high school Math teacher, 2 years of retirement were quite enough for me.
I missed the people, I missed the socialization and I missed the excitement of getting up every day to face a new adventure. While I taught, I had a few corporate clients for whom I would do Christmas baskets.
So when my present Ancaster location became available in the fall of 2003, the dream of having my own ‘little’ business became a reality just before Christmas of that same year. With lots of help, we stocked the shelves, we cut the ribbon, and we welcomed our very first customers who to this day still come to shop and visit. Many of those same customers we now call ‘friends’ and we always look forward to getting caught up on the events of their lives.
I decided right from the start our gifts baskets would be customized for the people receiving them. I also decided that I would use only quality, high end product. And so in spite of our name, we do not have baskets or bundles waiting to be picked from our shelves. Instead, we encourage our customers to come see us at the shop so that we can spend some time sharing our product knowledge and helping to suggest items that will fit together in a harmonious way.
